INFORMATION & APPLICATION THROWS AND JUMPS “EMERGING ELITE TRACK & FIELD COACHES” USATF/USOC Emerging Elite Coaches Men’s & Women’s Learn by Doing Track & Field Training Camps U.S. Olympic Training Center, Chula Vista, California
“EMERGING ELITE TRACK & FIELD COACHES” -
U.S. Emerging Elite coaches will be selected to attend and participate in USATF Elite Men’s and Women’s THROWS AND JUMPS camps. USATF/USOC will provide transportation to and from the San Diego Airport along with housing and meals. USATF Men’s/Women’s Development and the High Performance Committee will provide World Class Coaches as Camp Clinicians. Coaches should only apply if you can arrive by 3:00 pm on June 28th and not travel home until July 3rd (July 3rd is a travel day-no sessions). The Emerging Elite Coaches will:
- Attend and observe all classroom and field sessions in the respective event;
- (Will) Participate in Coaches Rap Sessions;
- Receive all camp handouts and complete follow-up evaluation; and
- Participate in informal discussions before/between/after sessions with staff, and other coaches.
CRITERIA FOR SELECTION: Coaches will be selected based on their proven abilities to develop athletes in their respective event(s) to State and National levels, and their projected potential to develop future Olympic medalists. This IS to inspire and aid the education of current elite HS, CLUB, AND COLLEGE coaches toward being among the nation’s finest developers of individuals to Olympic Games and World Championship medalist levels in respective events.

| Shannon Watt and Shane Carle @ the 2009 Nike Outdoor Nationals. Both performed well and made all WLTC members very proud. Shannon will be attending Harvard University and Shane Monmouth University in the fall...best of luck. Train hard and throw far...we live for this!!!!!

| Congratulaions to Bucknell University Freshman Sarah Bella (WLTC-NJ member) in winning both the Shot Put (45'-7 3/4") and Discus (139'-5") at the 2009 Patriot League Championships. Sarah was also named the 2009 Patriot League Rookie of the Year.
